Psychotherapy & Parent Coaching
Hi! Welcome, I’m Kasey.
My practice is grounded in a trauma-informed, attachment-based, feminist, queer, anti-racist, and relational lens. Because I am trained in many modalities, I tailor my work very specifically with each and every client.
I see my role as being there to support you in working through whatever issues/beliefs/traumas, etc. may be in the way of you becoming the best self you can be on any given day.
I offer equal doses of compassion and gentle “pushing/guiding,” and I strive to undo any aloneness that my clients carry with them that may need to be witnessed. I believe humor has a clear place in therapy.

Creating a safe, comfortable space together
Sessions are currently offered online. It is my intention to also offer in-person sessions in the future.
It is really important to me that my clients feel comfortable and safe, and that they have space to be fully themselves in our sessions and relationship.

I have been in private practice for over 25 years and in the field of therapy for over 30.
I can, and do, tailor my work very specifically to each client or couple. I have attended hundreds of trainings in many modalities. Having this broad foundation supports my work with my clients in that I am able to pick and choose lenses and modalities that seem to best fit each person. I am by no means a one-size-fits-all clinician.
I am authentic. I do not hide myself from my clients. The “me” that goes to work is the same “me” that goes everywhere else.
I am truly one of the most accepting and least judgmental people you will ever meet.
I have a unique gift in that I remember virtually every single thing my clients ever tell me. My attention is focused on you and our work, and you will not ever worry whether or not I am paying attention to you.
I believe that the work of good therapy is both an art and a science.
My practice is grounded in a trauma-informed, attachment-based, feminist, queer, anti-racist, and relational lens.

I am happy to discuss my fee in our initial phone call. I strongly believe therapy should be accessible to everyone and thus a portion of my practice is done on a need-based sliding scale. These spots are often full, but I do keep a waiting list, and you are always welcome to ask.
I do not work with any insurance directly. Doing so is left strictly up to my clients. If you have a PPO, there is typically some amount of my fee that can be reimbursed. I am happy to provide a Superbill at any time for you to submit to your insurance.
It may be helpful to call your insurance directly and ask how much they reimburse for “out of network” therapy. I can also provide a Superbill for clients to submit for reimbursement in the case that you have an FSA/HSA account. Therapy is considered a reimbursable medical expense.

AEDP is Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. It was developed by Diana Fosha and is an experiential, attachment-based therapy. It focuses on undoing a client’s feelings of isolation by using a highly engaged, transparent therapist to process difficult emotions and trauma in real time, leading to rapid, deep emotional healing. It is rooted in affective neuroscience, attachment theory, and transformational studies.
CSRT is Core Self Reclamation Therapy. This is an experiential, attatchment-focused model of therapy developed by Sue Anne Piliero. It works to undo toxic shame and core negative beliefs through using the combinations of a relational stance called Fierce Love, structured parts work, and the neuroscience of memory reconsolidation.
EFT is Emotionally Focused (Couples) Therapy. This therapy was developed by Sue Johnson and is a structured, evidence-based therapy approach primarily used to help couples resolve distress by strengthening emotional bonds and attachment security. It operates on the premise that healthy relationships and emotional well-being require safe, trusting emotional connections.
EMDR is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. This modality was developed in the late 1980’s by Francine Shapiro as a way of helping veterans suffering from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (which involves using your eyes, ears, or touch to rhythmically alternate back and forth between each side of your body) to calm the body, move out of flight or flight mode, and ultimately help clients process memories that are stored in the brain as trauma. Through the use of preparation resourcing and bilateral stimulation, clients are able to process the stored trauma to completion. At the end of EMDR, clients often experience feeling significantly less disturbed when they recall these painful memories/incidents, etc.
